Great article! Amongst other issues, are you worried that AI will ‘steal’ the most creative or ‘human’ of jobs and interests? Ie- writing, art, psychotherapy? It does terrify me. We’ve already lost so much connection to what it means to ‘Be’.. as Buber suggested - we’re losing the I Thou and replacing it with I It relationships .. it looks as though it’ll only get worse.
Thanks for commenting! I truly hope that the human connection that makes pyschotherapy so powerful can never be replaced, but I certainly see can see how that can happen. Analysis for instance lends itself to the blank slate which exemplifies the "I It" relationship. The one thing I think we can all agree upon is that AI development is moving too fast without enough foresight and that is terrifying for sure!
